DICK’S Sporting Goods and Foot Locker have never had an official athlete brand partner until now. Caitlin Clark has signed a multi-year agreement with both retailers, giving the Indiana Fever guard another major partnership outside of her playing career in the WNBA.
The deal also comes as Nike prepares Clark’s first signature basketball shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1. Both retailers will help promote her upcoming footwear and apparel, adding another way for shoppers to find her Nike products once they become available.
Under the agreement, Clark will take part in advertising campaigns, store events, fan activities, appearances, and community programs. The partnership covers both national and international promotions, including marketing for her Nike signature collection.
Clark has a personal connection to DICK’S Sporting Goods, having shopped there before sports seasons while growing up. She called the opportunity to become the first athlete brand partner for both companies a special full-circle moment.
Nike wasn’t mentioned in the partnership announcement, though Clark’s existing contract with the brand remains separate from her new retail agreements. The arrangement gives DICK’S and Foot Locker a role in promoting her products without changing who makes her signature footwear.
There is also the possibility of retailer-exclusive releases tied to the Nike Caitlin 1, but neither company has announced anything along those lines. For now, the confirmed plans focus on marketing, retail events, and promoting Clark’s upcoming Nike collection.
Clark now has Nike handling her signature footwear alongside two major sporting goods retailers supporting her brand. The agreement puts her in a position few basketball players have reached when it comes to working directly with retailers.
