Big Sean x adidas Pro Model II Collection Video Review

Published on

In anticipation of the new adidas Originals x Big Sean “Metro Attitude” collaboration coming in September, we decided to head down to the Nojo Kicks store, located in downtown Detroit, MI, to do our video comparison review on the Big Sean x adidas Pro Model II collection. We were able to gain access to all 3 models of the Pro Model II. The Big Sean Pro Model II “Detroit Player” (Red), the Big Sean Pro Model II “Hall of Fame” (Black), and a rare White colorway of the Big Sean Pro Model II which as of right now there are only 2 pairs said to be in existence. Big Sean has one pair and the good people at NoJo Kicks have the other pair.

The all red Detroit Player model was the first to release and was only available for purchase at Puffer Reds because of Ty Mopkins and his relationship with adidas. Ty Mopkins was formally the buyer for Puffer Reds back then and he worked with adidas so Puffer Reds could be the only exclusive seller for the shoe in the country. Since Ty Mopkins, Big Sean and Puffer Reds are such a staple of Detroit, it made perfect sense for adidas to release the shoe this way.

In 2012 adidas decided to collaborate with up and coming Detroit rapper, Big Sean, in the creation of their Pro Model II’s. They were inspired by his rise to stardom and wanted the Pro Model II’s to be a celebration of his efforts. Each shoe was meant to symbolize each phase of his career. The Pro Model II “Detroit Player” symbolized his come up and entry into mainstream rap and the Pro Model II “Hall of Fame” symbolized his newfound status and celebrated his continued success in the music industry.

Having the ability to hold all three colorways in my hand, especially the super rare all White Pro Model II’s, was a tremendous honor. Not only out of respect for my fellow Detroiter’s success but because each colorway in itself were rare and hard to get, so to be able to have all three in my hands was surreal. They each had that classic adidas look to them and what really set them apart was the gunmetal hardware and the lace jewelry. You couldn’t ask for a cleaner shoe. Not being a big adidas fan myself, I would love to have all 3 colorways in my collection. The shoes are that dope.

A big thank you the great staff at NoJo Kicks. They seem to always get their hands on the most exclusive sneakers and we appreciate them for giving us access to their inventory. Once again, we here at Sneaker Bar Detroit are the only ones with an in-hand video review of another exclusive sneaker. No one else has a detailed video review of the rare all White Big Sean Pro Model II let alone all 3 sneakers at once. Continue to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And stay tuned to Sneaker Bar for all of your up to date sneaker news, reviews, and release dates.
