After partnering for a wearable art collection in 2015, Converse and Boston-based streetwear brand Bandulu Street Couture are returning with an ultra-limited Celtics-inspired drop is available at Sneakeasy Boston.
Converse x Bandulu is truly an ode to Boston. Each detail pays homage to the city and its renowned basketball team starting with the hyper-limited availability of the Chuck 70. The collection’s 46 pairs of Chuck 70s (23 in Parchment, 23 in Black) are a nod to the Celtics founding year, 1946. Additionally, all post production work – including Pat Peltier hand-signing and numbering of each sneaker following its hand-embroidering, was completed in Charlestown, Massachusetts adding a layer of local craftsmanship to the collection.
All 46 Chuck 70 sneakers feature an embroidered Green shamrock, Bandulu logo, and co-branded NBA and Celtics sockliner. Converse x Bandulu is topped off with limited apparel pieces from the Converse Essentials line that feature, “Bandulu Street Couture 18” in player font on the back. The t-shirts are most the accessible piece of street couture Bandulu has ever created, part of Peltier’s aim to engage Boston’s youth.
Look for this limited Bandulu x Converse Chuck Taylor Collection to release this Friday, January 5th at Sneakeasy Boston and will range from $40 to $160 USD.
