ASICS Debuts The GEL-Sekiran

Published on

ASICS continues to expand its Sportstyle collection with the bold new GEL-Sekiran. Drawing inspiration from early 2000s and 2010s running shoes, this silhouette blends performance design with lifestyle appeal.

The ASICS GEL-Sekiran features a breathable mesh upper paired with synthetic leather overlays. This mix of materials offers a familiar retro look that feels right at home today. The design references several iconic ASICS models including the GEL-1130, GT-2160, GEL-Nimbus 13, and GEL-Cumulus.

What sets the GEL-Sekiran apart is its unique abstract side panels and sculpted midsole. These touches give the sneaker a futuristic yet nostalgic vibe. GEL cushioning in both the forefoot and heel ensures everyday comfort and support.

The silhouette debuts in two clean colorways. “Black/Waterfall” pairs black mesh with icy teal accents and silver branding. Meanwhile, “White/Lapis Lazuli Blue” offers a fresh mix of white mesh and electric blue detailing.

Currently, both colorways are available at select ASICS retailers in Australia. However, a U.S. release is expected soon. The retail price is set at $130 USD.

Whether you’re into retro runners or just want something different, the GEL-Sekiran is a standout. It combines Y2K design language with modern sneaker culture effortlessly.

In conclusion, the ASICS GEL-Sekiran is a bold new entry. With two eye-catching colorways and retro tech aesthetics, it’s a must-watch release for Spring/Summer 2025.
