ASICS is adding another new model to its Sportstyle lineup with the GEL-Kinetic FR, a lifestyle shoe that combines an older-looking upper with the brand’s newer cushioning setup. It arrives not long after the GEL-Kinetic 2.0, but the design is different enough to stand on its own.

The upper is built around oversized side panels that stretch down toward the forefoot and give the shoe a shape that almost looks pulled from a wrestling boot. Mesh covers the toe box, while a metallic panel wraps around the heel and gives the back of the shoe a more structured finish.

A slim forefoot transitions into a much thicker heel section underneath, making room for the scutoid GEL cushioning. That uneven midsole shape is one of the clearer differences between the GEL-Kinetic FR and other models in the current ASICS Sportstyle range.

Two colorways have surfaced so far. One comes dressed in Cocoa Powder and Champagne, while the other pairs Black with Pure Silver. A Fall 2026 release date is expected.
