ASICS is bringing the GEL-DS Trainer into the ballet-sneaker mix for Fall/Winter 2026. The new GEL-DS Trainer Ballet keeps the runner’s recognizable shape and tooling, then opens up the forefoot to give the women’s model a much different look.

The upper still uses mesh with synthetic overlays, including the familiar ASICS side stripes and the layered structure carried over from the GEL-DS Trainer. Most of the change happens across the top of the foot, where the traditional closed construction is replaced by an open section held together with thin laces.

White/Silver and Black will be the first two colorways out of the gate. The White/Silver pair mixes white mesh with silver overlays, while the Black version keeps nearly everything dark with black mesh, glossy panels, and grey ASICS stripes.

The ASICS GEL-DS Trainer Ballet will release in women’s sizing during Fall/Winter 2026. An exact release date has yet to be announced.
