The Pensole Footwear Design Academy and Foot Locker have teamed up to release an exclusive ASICS Gel Diablo as part of their latest sneaker design contest. Designed by Matt Franklin, Razma Hassani, and Blake Scordino, whom all received a $12,000 reward, as well as having their winning footwear design release exclusively through Foot Locker.

Dubbed, “Once Upon A Time In Kobe” that nods to the Japanese aesthetic of Koi ponds and silk kimonos. The shoe comes dressed in a mix of Light and Dark Blues that overlays a Light Beige tone throughout its upper.

ASICS Gel-Diablo Once Upon A Time In Kobe Release Date

Look for the ASICS Gel-Diablo “Once Upon A Time In Kobe” to release on Saturday, September 1st at select retailers, ASICS.com and Footlocker.com. The retail price tag is set at $120 USD.

Roughly 1,000 pairs will be split between 15 Foot Locker locations and the online stores. Its exact number wasn’t officially revealed.
