Arike Ogunbowale brought another exclusive Kobe colorway to the court this week, wearing a previously unseen Nike Kobe 5 Protro during the Dallas Wings’ game against the Chicago Sky.
The pair takes on a mismatched color setup rather than following one shade across the entire upper. Dark navy serves as the foundation, with coral red covering the lateral side and a lighter blue used along the medial half. The same split carries over to the overlays, outsole, and Mamba sheath logos on the tongues.
Ogunbowale has maintained a strong relationship with Nike throughout her WNBA career, although only a small number of her sneakers have been made available at retail. Her first public release came in 2023 with the Nike GT Cut 2 “Bright Mandarin.”
For now, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE appears to have been created exclusively for Arike Ogunbowale. No public release date has been announced, and the colorway is not currently expected to launch at retail.
