Jordan Brand is expanding its 40th-anniversary celebration of the Air Jordan 1 with a striking new addition—the Air Jordan Skyline Jacket. This GORE-TEX jacket pays homage to the iconic 1985 “Skyline” photo that inspired the Jumpman logo, a symbol recognized globally in sneaker and basketball culture.
The design captures Michael Jordan’s legendary leap against a Chicago skyline backdrop, showcasing vivid orange and dark gradient tones. Interestingly, while the photo’s pose was influenced by a 1984 New Balance shoot, Nike has cemented it as a cornerstone of its Air Jordan narrative.
This jacket perfectly complements the upcoming Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined”, releasing on February 15th. The sneakers mirror the sample pair MJ wore during the original photoshoot, creating a cohesive tribute for fans and collectors alike.
Currently, the Air Jordan Skyline Jacket is available in big kids’ sizes for $130 on Nike.com. Adult sizes are expected soon, priced at $500.
Crafted with GORE-TEX technology, the jacket ensures weather resistance without compromising style, making it a must-have for both fashion enthusiasts and sneakerheads.
UPDATE 3/3/25: The jacket is now available on Nike.com.
