Better “Bred” Release: AJ8 or AJ9

Published on

The “Bred” colorway from Jordan Brand is an iconic and highly sought-after design that has left an indelible mark on sneaker culture. Inspired by the Chicago Bulls’ signature team colors, the “Bred” colorway combines Black and Red hues in a striking and timeless fashion. It first gained prominence in 1985 with the release of the Air Jordan 1, a shoe that revolutionized basketball footwear and transcended the sport itself. The “Bred” colorway has since been applied to numerous Jordan silhouettes, solidifying its status as a beloved classic among sneaker enthusiasts and firmly establishing its place in the annals of sneaker history.

Two of the colorways that served as inspiration are the Air Jordan 8, which was first released in September 2017, and the Air Jordan 9, which made its debut in March 2018. The design of the Air Jordan 9 drew inspiration from Player Exclusives (PE) worn by notable basketball players such as Eddie Jones and Jason Kidd in 2002. On the other hand, the Air Jordan 8 introduced a fresh color blocking concept, showcasing a new and unique aesthetic.
