Back in 2012, Jordan Brand brought back two popular colorways of both the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 7 in celebration of Fourth of July aka Independence Day.
Originally released in 2000, and famously worn by Ray Allen and Vin Bake during the Sydney Olympics, the Air Jordan 6 “Olympic” made its retro return back in July 2012 for the Independence Day celebration. The 2012 pair was slightly different from the original pair with a Navy midsole instead of White. The rest of the shoe kept its OG look with Red lace locks and matching Red Jumpman logos. An icy translucent outsole completes the patriotic design.
The Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” was the shoe Micheal Jordan wore with the Dream Team during the 1992 Olympics. Originally released in 1992, the shoe features a White and Metallic Silver upper paired with Obsidian, Metallic Gold, and True Red contrasting accents. It first re-released in 2004, followed by its latest retro release in July 2012 (shown here) featuring the MJ’s Olympic jersey number “9” on the heels.
