Better Air Jordan: AJ5 “Grape” or AJ12 “Taxi”

Jordan Brand has a lot of iconic colorways, and two of those includes the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 and “Taxi” Air Jordan 12.

The Air Jordan 5 “Grape” made its most recent return in 2013 (shown below), which was one of the original four colorways released in 1990, that also retro’d in 2006. The shoes were worn by Michael Jordan during a Wheaties box cover shoot and by Will Smith on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It features a White leather upper with Black, New Emerald, and Grape accents atop a translucent outsole.

Worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996-1997 season was the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” colorway. The shoe features a White leather upper with Black textile leather overlays and outsole with Metallic Gold eyelets and a carbon fiber shank that references the Black and Yellow of NYC Taxi cabs. First retro’d in 2008’s Countdown Collection, the “Taxi” was also given the low-top treatment in 2011, and most recently returned in 2013 (shown below).
