Better Air Jordan 5: “Bel-Air” or “Fresh Prince”

Published on

Back in 2013, Jordan Brand debuted the Air Jordan 5 “Bel-Air” celebrating the classic 1990s Will Smith sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Over the course of the show Will Smith wore many of classic Air Jordans, including the Air Jordan 5 “Metallic” and “Fire Red” colorways in the pilot.

This release of the Air Jordan 5 was inspired by the show’s title card palette, featuring a Cool Grey upper with multicolored inner, vibrant Club Pink Jumpman on the tongue, Black laces, and Pink and Green “23” logo at the ankle.

In 2018, Jordan Brand celebrated Will Smith’s 50th birthday by releasing the “Fresh Prince” Air Jordan 5. Smith’s character on everyone’s favorite show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” famously wore the Air Jordan 5 in the early episodes without shoelaces. As a nod to that style, these Jordan 5s come without laces and are designed to be worn just the way the “Fresh Prince” wore them.
