Jordan Brand is reaching back to one of the NBA’s most emotional moments with the Air Jordan 3 “World’s Best Dad” arriving Summer 2026.

This release honors Michael Jordan’s first championship after returning to basketball—won on Father’s Day in 1996, just three years after the passing of his dad. That day gave us the iconic image of MJ crumpled on the locker room floor, clutching the game ball in tears.

The sneaker draws directly from that moment. A textured brown overlay replaces traditional elephant print, designed to mirror the arena carpet seen in the photo. The upper is dressed in Sail leather with hits of Black, University Red, Pale Ivory, and Palomino.

Small details carry big meaning here. Gold eyelets, a nod to greatness. Red accents pop on the tongue and lace holes. Inside, “World’s Best” is embroidered on the liner—a personal message only visible to the wearer. Out back, classic Nike Air branding returns.

The outsole is translucent red, a tribute to the Air Jordan 11 “Bred” Jordan wore during the ’96 Finals. A yellowed midsole and custom Father’s Day card finish off the design.
