The Air Jordan 3 “World’s Best Dad” arrives for Father’s Day 2026 with a story rooted in one of Michael Jordan’s most emotional moments. The release draws inspiration from his fourth championship in 1996, a title that carried deep personal meaning following the loss of his father, James Jordan Sr.

That Finals win, secured on Father’s Day against Seattle, marked a powerful chapter in Jordan’s career. It wasn’t just about basketball—it reflected resilience, family influence, and the drive instilled in him from a young age. The now-iconic image of Jordan lying on the locker room floor, overwhelmed with emotion, became one of the most defining visuals of his legacy.

Jordan Brand channels that story into the design of “World’s Best Dad” Air Jordan 3. The shoe features a clean Sail leather upper, while the usual elephant print is replaced by a pattern inspired by the Chicago locker room carpet from that championship run. A translucent red outsole also connects back to the Air Jordan 11 “Bred” worn during the 1996 Finals, adding another thoughtful layer to the tribute.

Additional touches include classic “Nike Air” branding on the heel, hidden “World’s Best” text on the inner tongue, and a Father’s Day card included with the release, further reinforcing the tribute theme.

The Air Jordan 3 “World’s Best Dad” releases May 16, 2026, just ahead of Father’s Day, through select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com. Available in family sizing, the retail price is set at $215 for men’s, $155 for grade school, $95 for preschool, and $80 for toddler.
