In the upcoming Holiday season of 2024, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” is set to make its debut, marking a significant moment as the first collaboration between an HBCU and Jordan Brand available to the public.

Initially given to Howard Bison’s basketball team in 2023, the public release is a significant move for Jordan Brand. This marks the brand’s debut of an HBCU shoe at retail locations.

Founded on March 2, 1867, Howard University boasts famous alumni like Chadwick Boseman, Sean Combs, and Taraji P. Henson. In 2020, Jordan Brand and Howard inked a 20-year deal, with Michael Jordan pledging $100 million for racial equality and social justice over a decade.

The anticipated Air Jordan 1 Low, initially thought to mirror the Player Exclusive, will showcase a unique color arrangement and be devoid of branding. The palette, echoing the school’s hues, will include White, Gym Red, Midnight Navy, Neutral Grey, Sail, and Muslin. Crafted entirely from leather, the sneakers will feature a White base complemented by Navy and Red contrasting accents. A Sail midsole atop a Navy rubber outsole completes the design.

Air Jordan 1 Low Howard University Release Date

Scheduled for release on October 12, 2024, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” PE will be available at select Jordan Brand retailers, both in-store and online, as well as on Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $140 USD.
