On August 10th, 2013, District Customs won 1st place at Custom Kings in his hometown of Washington, D.C. He had only 7 days to complete his model of choice, Air Jordan 1 later to be dubbed, “Kyushu”. His Air Jordan 1 “Kyushu” Custom was done all free hand with only tip brushes and two colors, Navy Blue and Red.

The design of the Air Jordan 1 “Kyushu” Custom was inspired by the classic art form of Blue and White porcelain from the Japanese island of Kyushu, hence its name. Each shoe features totally unique finely detailed landscapes, scroll text on the heel, hand painted dragon scales, and floral and geometric patterns. To add a little pop, he added Red accents to the tongue patches and jumpman logos on the heel.
