Better Air Jordan Doernbecher: Air Jordan 1 or Air Jordan 13

With Doernbecher season right around the corner, we decided to take a look back at two previous Air Jordan releases.

The Air Jordan 1 was part of the 2008 Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, and was designed by patient Tony Taylor Jr., whom was a Nephrotic Syndrome and a kidney transplant survivor. Highlighting the shoe were palm trees that references to the Bahamas.

Part of the 2011 Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle Collection was the Air Jordan 13 designed by patient John Charles. Built with a patent leather upper in Green with Black snakeskin-embossed overlays along with details including his soccer number, initials, and “Crohn’s” written on the clear portions of the outsole, symbolic of John’s fight to get better.
