Y-3‘s Fall/Winter 2019 collection entirely reframes the collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, creating a space for the German athletics pioneer and the Japanese designer to reinterpret each other’s most iconic design codes.

The Y-3 FYW S-97 is Yamamoto’s reimagining of a foundational adidas style, the Salvation, which was one of the first running silhouette to utilize Feet You Wear technology. The silhouette presents this archival style elevated with modern adidas technologies, including Primeknit and Boost cushioning.

The innovative design offers a flexible, multi-layer upper embroidered with the Yohji Yamamoto signature, as well as suede and leather details at its heel and forefoot. Its unique Black and White midsole, which hearkens to the Salvations, features cut-outs that offer a glimpse of the powerful Boost technology contained within.
