One of adidas’ most iconic sneakers is getting a material makeover with the new adidas Italia “Ostrich Leather” edition.

First launched in the 1960s, the Italia has been synonymous with sharp lines and understated elegance for decades. This new iteration elevates the silhouette into luxury sneaker territory with high-end ostrich-effect leather, bringing with it a texture that sneakerheads will immediately spot.

Touches like the gold-foil “adidas Italia” stamp and vintage-style sole ensure the heritage runs deep. Cream laces stand out on the earthy tones, while a two-tone midsole adds balance with a retro touch. Meanwhile, the herringbone outsole takes inspiration from adidas’ training archives.

The adidas Italia “Ostrich Leather” releases on September 3rd through adidas.com and select retailers for $400.

The $400 price point is certainly a step up, but the quality and materials back up the bold price hike.
