James Harden and adidas Basketball have teamed up to honor the “Dragon Boat Festival” with an exclusive release of the Harden Vol. 8.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a cherished Chinese tradition celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month in the Chinese calendar, corresponding to late May or June in the Gregorian calendar.

This special edition of the Harden Vol. 8 pays homage to the Dragon Boat Festival while having similarities from the previous “Year of the Dragon” Vol. 7, showcasing intricate cultural details. The midfoot features weaves inspired by Chinese textiles, embracing profound cultural symbolism. A white lacing system with a red nylon pull-tab, adorned with a traditional Chinese coin and pearl tassel, pays tribute to heritage. The heel tab boasts opulence with jade and white “pearls” alongside a gold-finished heel counter symbolizing prosperity. The outsole blends jade, gold, and semi-translucent clear rubber, complemented by Jet Boost cushioning for unrivaled comfort and performance.

Look out for the adidas Harden Vol. 8 “Dragon Boat Festival” set to launch in 2024 exclusively in China through adidas online and in-store. The retail price is yet to be announced.
