During the 1996-1997 NBA season, the league celebrated it’s 50th anniversary by honoring it’s 50 greatest players during the 1997 All-Star Weekend held in Cleveland, Ohio. In retrospect, that weekend would also serve as an introduction to arguably one of the greatest players and competitors of today’s generation, Los Angeles Lakers’ (then rookie) shooting guard Kobe Bean Bryant.

At that time Kobe had already garnered a reputation for doing things in his own spectacular way whether it be by taking then pop entertainer Brandy to his senior prom or even when he skipped college entirely and jumped straight to the NBA before the ink could dry on his high-school diploma. Thus when he took his first steps on the hardwood court of Cleveland’s Gund Arena as a contestant in the 1997 NBA Dunk Contest donning the classic purple and gold LA Lakers’ shooting shirt, one could not help but to do a double-take at his perfectly matching footwear: the adidas EQT Elevation.

Now back by popular demand, we at Packer Shoes proudly present the “1997 Dunk Contest” adidas Crazy 97 (EQT Elevation)!

True to the original worn during the ’97 Dunk Contest, this ‘Feet You Wear’ technology classic features a luxurious purple upper with holograms positioned on the tongue and ankle along with Microlite stripes worked into the design of the shoe. Straps wrap the heel for added support. A molded EVA midsole works with traditional FYW tooling below.

The “1997 Dunk Contest” adidas Crazy 97 (EQT Elevation) is now available for sale exclusively at our store located in Teaneck, NJ and online via our web-store PackerShoes.com. Retail is $110 USD.
