New retailer images confirm the adidas Consortium ZX 8000 is returning in two polished colorways. The classic runner keeps its technical DNA while embracing sharper color blocking and richer tones.

One pair stays loyal to the original blueprint, minus past design references. Meanwhile, the Blue Glow and Unity Purple option echoes the legendary “Aqua” styling with deeper saturation. It shows how color alone can modernize a heritage silhouette. The balance between nostalgia and freshness is well judged.

The ZX line helped define adidas’ innovation era in late-80s performance running. Unlike today’s slim profiles, its layered structure still feels purposeful and athletic.

The adidas Consortium ZX 8000 Pack will get an early release at Overkill Berlin on January 17, 2026, available in-store on a first-come, first-served basis. A broader drop on adidas.com hasn’t been confirmed yet.
