With LeBron James heading to Philadelphia, Nike is releasing a special Air Force 1 ’01 for the occasion. The brand did something similar earlier this year with the Air Force 1 ’01 “NYC” during the Knicks’ playoff run, which featured a pixelated image of Madison Square Garden on the insoles. This time, Philadelphia gets its own version with Sixers colors and a few details tied to the city.
With “215” on one heel and “PHL” on the other, the Nike Air Force 1 ’01 “Philly” uses a familiar red, white, and blue colorway. The colors match the Sixers, while white “Phila” lettering replaces the usual branding on the blue heel tabs.
White leather covers the toe, laces, and heel, with royal blue on the perforated toe box and side panels. Red leather Swooshes run along the sides, with a smaller red Swoosh sitting below the laces. The midsole stays white with blue “AIR” lettering, while the rubber outsole comes in blue.
The heel embroidery has blue outlines around the “215” and “PHL” lettering, with a red Swoosh running through both. Inside the shoes, the insoles show a black-and-white brick wall with cracks running through it and a red Nike logo breaking through one section.
The Nike Air Force 1 ’01 “Philly” releases today, October 22nd, at 5:30 PM ET through Nike SNKRS. Pairs will also be available at Philadelphia retailer Lapstone & Hammer for $140, with men’s sizes 3.5 through 15 available.
