Red patent leather covers the Joe Freshgoods x Blackstock & Weber “Candy Apple” Loafer, giving the Chicago designer’s latest project a different look from his New Balance collaborations. After an earlier teaser, we now have a closer look at the pair and its checkerboard finish.

The red Italian patent leather has a checkerboard etched across the toe, and some of the squares show through in a lighter shade. A penny strap runs across the top, with pink lining on the inside and a thick Vibram lug sole underfoot.

Joseph Robinson also teased a new footwear partnership for 2027 earlier this year, though it remains unclear whether this release has any connection to that announcement. Timberland has been mentioned in speculation, but no partnership has been confirmed.

The Joe Freshgoods x Blackstock & Weber “Candy Apple” Loafer arrives October 23, 2026, on the Joe Freshgoods website, followed by an October 24 in-store launch at Every Now and Then in Chicago. A release through Blackstock & Weber’s website is also possible, though still unconfirmed.
