New Balance is bringing a few hiking-inspired details to the 9060 with its upcoming “Trail Hiker” Pack. The shoes keep the bulky shape of the original but replace traditional laces with an adjustable toggle system. There’s also more suede across the upper, with two colorways featuring olive green and purple.

The olive pair combines dark green suede with off-white perforated panels, black “N” logos, and a matching black sole. Neon green accents run through the eyelets and appear on the tongue and forefoot. The purple version has a similar build, although the darker suede is paired with bright pink details instead. Both pairs come with rope-style laces, adding to the hiking shoe influence.

Much of the regular 9060 remains unchanged, particularly the oversized sculpted midsole and ABZORB cushioning. The layered panels are still there as well. Most of the differences come down to the materials and lacing, rather than any major changes to the shoe itself.

The pack arrives after New Balance introduced the 9060R earlier this year, which featured an upper influenced by the 993. That release brought a more noticeable change to the model’s construction, while these new versions stick closer to the original design.

The New Balance 9060 “Trail Hiker” Pack is already available through international New Balance channels. Both colorways are expected to release in the U.S. during Winter 2026, priced at $160 each.
