Lil Yachty has spent the past several months getting more involved with WWE, and this weekend he finally got his first chance to wrestle. The rapper stepped into the ring during Sunday Night’s Main Event after becoming a regular alongside Trick Williams.
Yachty faced Baron Corbin and lasted around five minutes in the match, which helped Trick earn a United States Championship opportunity later in the show. Williams took advantage of it and walked away with the title, making Yachty’s first match part of a pretty big night for the duo.
For his WWE debut, Yachty wore a custom pair of gold Nike Speedsweep 8 wrestling shoes. Metallic leather covers the boots, while Concrete Boys branding is stitched into the back. It’s another tie to his work with Nike, which already includes several Concrete Boys Air Force 1 projects.
The Speedsweep 8 usually flies well below the radar compared to most Nike models. Built specifically for wrestling, the shoe rarely gets much attention outside the sport, but Yachty’s gold pair gave it a much different look than the standard versions.
These appear to be a PE made specifically for Lil Yachty’s first WWE match, and there’s currently no indication that the gold Concrete Boys Nike Speedsweep 8 will be released.
