Vans is giving the Slip-On a patchwork makeover with the “Sunday’s Best” pack, offered in Blue/Black and Incense Brown/White. Both pairs mix different prints and fabrics across the upper, but each takes on a noticeably different look.

Plaid, floral, checkered, and shirting-inspired materials are stitched together in horizontal sections, pulling from the idea of dressing up for Sunday. The fabrics do most of the work here. Vans keeps the Slip-On shape familiar instead of changing the shoe itself.

Junya Watanabe is another clear reference behind the project, mainly through the use of mixed shirting and patchwork. Rather than running one print across the whole upper, the design breaks everything up into different sections from front to back.
