FKA Twigs and On are changing up the Cloudmonster 3 with a mule version that drops the heel and replaces the usual laces with a simpler strap setup. It still looks very much like a Cloudmonster, just less like something built strictly for running and more like an easy slip-on.

Most of the work is up top. Two wide elastic straps hold the foot in place, and the collar is lined with soft terry cloth around the open heel. The lightweight upper and molded midfoot structure carry over, so the shoe does not lose the shape of the original.

The big CloudTec sole stays in place too. Those oversized hollow pods still run the length of the shoe, which keeps the chunky look that made the Cloudmonster easy to recognize in the first place.

Loess/Hare uses soft cream and tan shades across the upper, straps, and midsole. An off-white lining brightens up the collar, with darker rubber sections showing underneath.

The Cacao/Espresso pair is much moodier, with dark brown across most of the upper and a near-black sole unit. Olive-toned rubber appears on the outsole, but the overall palette stays very dark.

FKA Twigs brings in “EUSEXUA” branding on the insoles, tying the release to her recent album era. The branding is subtle, which leaves the open heel, strap system, and exaggerated sole as the main visual details.

This is one of the more distinct footwear projects to come out of her ongoing relationship with On. Instead of changing the Cloudmonster 3 completely, the Mule keeps the recognizable base and just reworks the parts that make the biggest difference for everyday wear.

The FKA Twigs x On Cloudmonster 3 Mule releases August 27, 2026 through On. Both the Loess/Hare and Cacao/Espresso colorways will retail for $180.
