New Balance 2000 Returns in Leather and Mesh

Published on

New Balance is taking the 2000 in a different direction for Fall 2026, swapping out much of the synthetic-heavy build for a more traditional mix of mesh and leather. It gives the newer silhouette a look that feels a little more familiar within the brand’s current lineup without changing what makes the 2000 stand out.

A fabric mesh base now sits under larger leather overlays across the upper, with more leather worked into the eyestays and heel. The shoe still keeps its sculpted shape and visible-tech sole unit, so the change is mostly about texture and structure rather than turning it into a completely different model.

The setup puts the 2000 a bit closer to shoes like the 1906R and 9060, especially in the way the upper is layered. At the same time, the sole still gives it a more futuristic look than either of those models.

Two colorways are expected to launch with the leather version. One comes in White and Silver, using a familiar metallic runner palette, while the other goes almost entirely Bronze. That pair stands out more simply because bronze is used far less often than the usual silver and chrome finishes seen on Y2K-inspired runners.

The New Balance 2000 Leather “White/Silver” and “Bronze” are expected to release in Fall 2026. The regular New Balance 2000 is priced at $170, though pricing for these leather versions has not yet been confirmed.
