Nike is continuing to build momentum around the return of the Zoom Hyperflight as the model approaches its 25th anniversary. The silhouette made a strong appearance during NBA All-Star Weekend 2026 in Los Angeles, where attendees were given early access to Jason Williams’ “Sacramento Kings” PE. Alongside that moment, Nike quietly showcased a more experimental version tied to the event.
That pair, known as the “Warning Label” sample, features an iridescent gold finish that aligns with the broader LA-themed Nike Basketball collection. Details like graffiti-style “LA” branding on the heel and outsole connect it to past city-inspired releases, adding a localized design touch that fits the All-Star setting.
Originally introduced in 2001 and designed by Eric Avar under the Alpha Project, the Zoom Hyperflight stood out for its lightweight build and futuristic look. It was engineered for quick, agile players and quickly became one of Nike Basketball’s more distinct performance models of its era.
Even as Nike introduces newer designs like the GT Future, which draws inspiration from early 2000s aesthetics, interest in the Hyperflight remains strong among longtime collectors.
While the “Warning Label” version is not expected to release, Nike is planning multiple Hyperflight drops throughout 2026, signaling a broader push to bring the model back into rotation.
