Sneaker Politics has teamed up with ASICS to release a special edition Gel Lyte III that pays homage to the shop’s founder Derek Curry’s military service.

“From the very first day of training, it’s seared into your brain that if it doesn’t fit in the bag, you don’t bring it,” Curry said. “The Army played a major role in my life and I am thrilled to finally be bringing these two worlds together. Without it, there wouldn’t be a Sneaker Politics.”

Dubbed, “Always Read,” this offering of the Sneaker Politics x ASICS Gel Lyte III comes in a color blocking nodding back to his military uniforms. It features an Olive Green canvas base with tonal suede overlays, Black Tiger Stripes, and military-style “POLITICS” badges on the lateral ankle. Other details includes tear marks on the toes revealing the United States flag along with “P” branded heels and co-branded insoles.

A wider release of the collab will arrive at select retailers on June 11th. The retail price tag is set at $150 USD.

Sneaker Politics is also donating a portion of the profits to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Lone Survivor Foundation, which are two non-profit organizations that assist veterans and active-duty service members.
