First released in 1991, the Air Jordan 6 is the fourth Air Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield. The Air Jordan 6 is one of many significant sneakers in the Air Jordan signature series. That’s mainly because the Air Jordan 6 is the shoe that Michael Jordan won the first of his six championships in and also his first Finals MVP.

The Air Jordan 6 was first retroed in 2000 in the original Black and Infrared colorway. From that point on though the Jordan 6 came with “Jordan” branding in place of the “Nike Air” branding. It wasn’t until 2002 that the first Air Jordan 6 Low was released to the public. This “Chrome” or “Metallic Silver” colorway was the first of the Air Jordan 6 Lows.

The upper of this 2015 version of the Air Jordan 6 Low “Chrome” is built entirely out of Black nubuck. The laces are accompanied by a Chrome lace lock with a Black “Jumpman” logo printed onto it. On the top of the tongue you’re missing the iconic, 2 finger rubber tongue mold, but you still have the lace shroud, done in Black, with a Metallic Silver “Jumpman” in the center.

On the back heel you still have the classic Air Jordan 6 spoiler, made out of hard Black rubber and with a Metallic Silver strip going across the middle. Below the spoiler you have the “Jumpman” logo stitched in black.

The midsole is made up of Black polyurethane with hits of Metallic Silver that accent the sections of icy Blue outsole that extend upward on both the heel and forefoot of the midsole. On the heel of the midsole you have the visible Nike Air unit peeking through the icy part of the outsole.

Moving down to the outsole, it is done in Black with abstract sections of clear or transparent rubber on both sides of the forefoot and heel. Designed throughout the length of the outsole are a series of holes which are meant to help give the shoe traction. In the mid-foot area of the outsole you have a Grey “Jumpman” logo.

The Air Jordan Retro 6 Low “Chrome” is set to be released this Saturday, August 29th, for $175 USD at most Nike/Jordan Brand retailers.

If you live in the Metro Detroit area you can find the Air Jordan Retro 6 Low “Chrome” at both of “Puffer Reds” two retail locations in either Wayne or Ypsilanti, Michigan.
