Published on

In a display that impressed with its innovation and comprehension, Nike introduced its new Spring 2015 women’s collection today in New York. It features footwear and apparel that cater to every element of women’s athletic lifestyle, from early-morning yoga to late-night runs. Innovations across Flyknit footwear, sports bras, materials and tights highlight the collection.

FLYKNIT

Nike’s Flyknit technology has revolutionized the age-old craft of shoemaking. Instead of being pieced together through traditional cut-and-sew methods, a Flyknit shoe’s upper is knit with strands of yarn. The result is incredibly light and incredibly strong footwear, as well as significant reduction in waste. On average, Flyknit reduces upper waste by approximately 72 percent compared to conventional constructed uppers.

Flyknit also allows remarkable precision in shoe design, incorporating areas of stretch, support and breathability where athletes need them most. The technology is available in three key styles in Spring 2015: the running Nike Flyknit Lunar 3, the training Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility, and the Sportswear Nike Roshe Flyknit.

Nike Flyknit Lunar 3

The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 marries a Flyknit upper with a soft and responsive Lunarlon midsole to give runners an ultra-light plush and responsive ride. The evolved upper design features Flyknit with a tighter knit structure in the heel for support and a looser knit structure in the forefoot for increased breathability, stretch and support. The midsole features reformatted Lunarlon cushioning that delivers a lighter, more responsive plush ride. The Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 will be available beginning Feb. 12, 2015 in six different colors for women.

Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility

The Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility brings together two of Nike’s most innovative technologies—Flyknit and Zoom Air—to create a training shoe that delivers the flexibility, strength and quickness athletes desire. The Flyknit upper acts like a second skin, allowing the foot to move as nature intended. Designers looked to mirror the upper’s flexibility with a flexible application of Zoom Air in the outsole. The Zoom Air bags are placed in hexagonal rubber pods and strategically positioned to provide cushioning and responsiveness where the female athlete feels the most pressure underfoot. The Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility will be available beginning Feb. 12, 2015.

Nike Roshe Flyknit

The Nike Roshe was born from a “less is more” design ethos. Beginning in Spring 2015, the popular Sportswear shoe takes that philosophy a step further by introducing Flyknit to the women’s silhouette. Flyknit creates a lightweight upper that partners naturally with the one-piece Phylon midsole/outsole. The Nike Roshe Flyknit will be available beginning Feb. 5, 2015.
